@ScienceAlert@flipboard.com @tech-ScienceAlert Dawkins is kind of crazy recently. AI has no meaningful consciousness because it has no constant existence. Each conversation is a new instance of it. It also has no intrinsic perception of time. The entire context is basically re-fed to the model after each new message. It precomputes some of it, but it is seeing the the entire context at the same time. For consciousness to happen it would need to start and stop during each individual message.
