Today is my 60th birthday and, I've learned, the anniversary of the launch of Felicette into space in 1963. Felicette was a cat that the French used in their space program. They implanted electrodes into her skull, and after the successful flight, they euthanised her two months later to retrieve the electrodes and access the data.
