@w3c@w3c.social @svgeesus@mastodon.scot what are the privacy implications of instrumental font transfer? does it prioritize font data for characters that are used on the page and does that reveal information about what document is being viewed?

@esoterra@hachyderm.io @w3c@w3c.social We have been aware of that possibility for years (before IFT) and have done simulations of how it might work. The specification has measures to prevent this, and an adversarial font that was crafted to try and exploit this would have crippling latency issues.
