Like opposing AI ain't supposed to be a fucking CULT people. It shouldn't be your entire fucking identity. I get people are scared shit is going to get worse, but if you continue to assume bad faith and treat people like hot trash over this, you're going to absolutely lose by default because nobody will want to listen to you. Nobody owes you an audience.
And from what I've seen of the anti-AI crowd in terms of numbers, they presently lack the numbers or core competency to do much more than fork a text editor or web framework. Mostly just a lot of whining. If you hope to attract people who can stop the influx of slop, you HAVE to do better. Or you will repel the people you NEED. I'm already fucking repulsed by all this.
And again... I fucking hate Anthropic and OpenAI and what they could do to society, what they're already doing too.

Like why would I want to work with most anti-AI cultists at this point? They are just gonna complain, be accusatory, accuse me of writing like Clod because I deigned to use an emdash — a punctuation mark I have used since I was a child. That's how I feel, and I know that's how a LOT of people quietly feel because I actually talk to people about this and they say it's out of control. People who DON'T LIKE AI.

@Elizafox@social.treehouse.systems I don't think that "nobody will want to listen to you" is a good reason for not being a zealot. A good reason for not being a zealot is that fanaticism leads you toward having shitty opinions.
