Like, I really don't think people understand what I'm saying here. The term "trans pogrom" is not a rhetorical device, and it's not a hypothetical either. The fascist Republican Party is telling you loud and clear, in their own words what they mean to do about trans and queer people just "existing" and I'm tired of being told I'm overreacting just because comfortable bougie assholes don't *want* to believe it's true. "They can't *do* that" doesn't work either; they have a 6-3 fascist high Supreme Court that has already demonstrated that the laws don't mean f*ck all to them, and thus they can do *anything* they bloody well want to. https://www.damemagazine.com/2023/08/14/the-gop-has-a-master-plan-to-criminalize-being-trans/amp/ I realize that most of our society doesn't give a crap, but at least read the goddamn headline: "The GOP Has a Master Plan to Criminalize Being Trans." This is not "red meat" for the base, these nazis are dead f*cking serious. And it's not QAnon nation pushing this alone either; it's powerful fascist Republican think tanks, elected officials, judges, lawyers, major media and propaganda organizations. Do you understand what it means when someone criminalizes your existence? If "being trans" is illegal, how exactly does a person in "violation" of the law avoid breaking the law? A pogrom is just like a genocide, in fact one usually leads to the other; it's a process. First you isolate your targets, then you criminalize their existence, then you round them up, and eventually you start doing murders. That's the history, that's how this process works. When someone criminalizes your existence, it means they intend to f*cking KILL you. The GOP is not making anti-trans legislation a primary plank in their political program for no reason. They're not trying to ban LGBTQ content in the public sphere for sh*ts and giggles. They are not trying to make it illegal to help, or support trans people because it'll look good on a campaign flier. They are not trying to give the Department of Justice a mandate to prosecute officials in other states for failing to police LGBTQ people and prosecute an anti-trans pogrom because it'll be a spicy talking point for Fox News monologues. And they certainly aren't trying to do all this on the federal level, through Project 2025, because they're undecided about how to proceed here. This is a pogrom in process. This is what a pogrom looks like. This is how you make it "legal" to start murdering people you don't like in a "liberal democracy." This is no different at all than what the Nazi Party did to set up the Holocaust. They are serious, they are politically empowered, they mean to f*cking "end" trans and queer people, and they are prepared to throw *your* ass in jail if you try to stop them. #TransRights #Pogroms #Fascism #USPolitics

@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes@social.treehouse.systems They've got a list of MPox vaccine recipients to work from. Funny how that works.

@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes@social.treehouse.systems Really not sure how people are missing shit like this, with all the subtlety of a foghorn hooked up to an amp cranked to 11. https://www.tahlequahdailypress.com/news/senator-calls-lgbtq-oklahomans-filth-says-constituents-dont-want-them/article_c8979398-d260-11ee-9823-973bf20c3730.html

  • @AnarchoNinaAnalyzes@social.treehouse.systems The only difference between Project 2025 today and the Mandate for Leadership bromides of the 1980's is that they simply switched out "homosexuals and feminists" back then with "transgender" today as their choice of pinata target to highlight. But, be not fooled, folks, (talking to the general viewer now) because as Nina said, these effers mean serious business...and trans folk are only one of many targets. This is why you don't sacrifice anyone to appease fascists.

@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes@social.treehouse.systems You know, over the course of the last few years I've been greeted on the regular by people who believe (or profess to believe) that Things Aren't That Bad, that At Least It's Not a Genocide, that Surely It Won't Get Worse. There's a name for those supposed reassurances, those false claims that the world isn't trying to murder us. Gaslighting is that name. If anyone has established any measure of trust with me, the fastest way to break it at this juncture is to tell me than I'm hysterical, that plans are not moving forward to kill our brothers and sisters and niblings. And especially don't do that while offering a hopeful article which claims that the March of the Jackboots has been rebuffed by a single step for 5 seconds. We cling to any positive stories like that because they offer a possible floatation device in a typhoon. Not because they're happy and feel-good, but some days it's all the hope we have.

@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes@social.treehouse.systems we got a dumbass governor candidate in NC who is SERIOUS about women not voting too. The worst 2023 word so far is "unserious".

@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes@social.treehouse.systems I'm honestly terrified. On one level, I know the GOP is desperately trying to hold on to power and not fall apart, but on another level, what happens if they don't fall apart? What happens if they win in 2024? I need to get my passport.

  • @AnarchoNinaAnalyzes@social.treehouse.systems And it says right in the plan that if the law doesn't allow what Trump wants, the law is wrong and will be ignored.
