@TimKStanton@mstdn.social I had 40 acres of land up on the Coconino Plateau about 40 miles south of the Grand Canyon. The first thing I did was fence it in. When I came up with the horses, I would let them loose. The retired ranch horse knew exactly what to do: he started grazing. The other horse, who had no ranch experience, was totally clueless and had to take cues from his companion. It was pretty funny in the beginning. I used to call the place the "salad bar."
