There are many good books and resources on Z80 Assembly but this programming tutorial by Patai Gergely is valuable for a couple of reasons. Gergely last worked on this in 2004 when people still cared about good work. And it covers material beyond the basics such as simple data structures and programming techniques. The tutorial is available as a website: https://tutorials.eeems.ca/Z80ASM/index.htm and a single PDF that includes all the pages on the website: https://element.zxfiles.net/DOCS/ASM/Z80ASMBL.PDF #z80 #assembly

  • @amoroso@oldbytes.space Ah, Eeems. He was a prominent figure in the english speaking TI Calculator programming circles. The whole TI-8x series used to be based on z80 and the ASM programming scene there was quite lively. This programming tutorial is, at least to my eyes, a testimony of that community's existence. I'm glad it's still there and the community's resources are still around. EDIT: and right after writing this, I wonder if Eeems wrote the guide or is just hosting it.

  • @amoroso@oldbytes.space Can I shamelessly plug my reference page for the z80, https://dot1q.org/z80/
