LADIES OF FEDI (all uhhhhh three of you (OH maybe some spinsterfriends?)): I have a VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION. TLDR: about hair :smug_cat: STORYTIME - I used to think I had straight hair because my mother has very straight hair and I always kept it as long as it would grow (never "cut," only trimmed). HOWEVER, in recent years I have cut it to the shortest it's ever been (which is still long for some people.... maybe bottom of my shoulderblades?) and I have BANGS again, and I have learned that I actually inherited my father's wavy hair. BECAUSE MY BANGS KEEP FLIPPING ALL OVER THE PLACE. THE OTHER DAY IT LOOKED LIKE A GIANT MUSTACHE ON MY HEAD :blobcatohnoes: But the rest of my hair is still long enough that it doesn't show the "wave" SO The question I pose to you: do I cut my hair more to see the wave? I LOVE long hair and I didn't even cut it to this (still "long" ish) length for... look I'm not telling you my age, you can guess :blobglare: but the point is I'm nervous and WHAT IF IT LOOKS HORRIBLE :blobcat_sad: Maybe I should cut it in increments? I just want to see if it would look nice with the waaaave (and maybe make my bangs look not as silly) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Help me ladies, I never thought I had wavy hair and have no idea how to make it look even more rad (or at least not silly) on me :blob_cool: Thank you for reading my TED talk, pls send help :crackCat2:

@scenesbycolleen@nicecrew.digital I also have my hair at the shortest it's ever been right now... down to my breasts.... and it did really bring out the wave and it looks way better. :airipout: As for bangs, it depends when the wave starts, for me I have enough straight length before the first wave that I can just cut my bangs to the right length and they'll be straight, but if they're crazy for you then there's some options, you could use a hair dryer and round brush or something similar, but since you're trad I'd recommend just growing them out a bit and leaving them in a velcro hair roller to give them a nice neat swoosh outwards, that's how I deal with my curtain bangs :3

  • Only Extremely thin women can pull off short hair. Every single man on the planet will tell you to keep it long. I can pull off a chin length Bob, with sleek and shaggy, and I look great with baby bangs, but I always grow it back out. My hair grows Painfully slow. So I guess, are you Extremely thin? And how fast does your hair grow? Sometimes while contemplating a shirt cut, all you see are how they look on 9s and 10s. Try to look at before afters of "average" women before you dive in to the deep end. Also, how deep is your trust in your hairdresser? If you can convince them to be brutally honest, they should have enough experience to know exactly how happy someone of your age, weight, and face shape will be with the outcome of various cut options you present to them.
