Trump’s treatment of James Comey is disgraceful. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/oct/26/james-comey-charged-doj. It is designed to intimidate and preemptively deter anybody who ever tries to hold Trump accountable in law or politics, part and parcel of his revolting attacks on Ilhan Omar, Letitia James, etc etc.

@heidilifeldman@mastodon.social Please don't block me, but Comey bought this. Comey is literally basically single-handedly responsible for trump. Without his "but her emails" thing, trump would've lost.

@heidilifeldman@mastodon.social I'm disturbed by the number of otherwise sensible people whose reaction is "screw Comey; his ineptitude cost Clinton the presidency". This isn't about "karmic justice for Comey", it's about LEGAL justice for everyone, not to mention scaring future Comeys into submission.
