Spent some time writing about the latest #rust #bioinformatics crate I’ve been working on: seqair, an alternative to (a subset of) htslib with some neat APIs and memory patterns!

@killercup@mastodon.social I’ve also been working on a rust-native replacement for samtools, however I decided to ignore records in bam files spanning from one block into the next. I could find any example of that in my Illumina data.
