Don't look at me... I'm still of the opinion that "maybe it's good to memorize things so you don't have to look them up on the internet every time you need to remember them."
I obviously still use the internet though, so maybe I'm a hypocrite. 🤷

@slembcke@mastodon.gamedev.place i've got a more advanced version of this, which is that if i start using something that requires me to remember a bunch of stuff, and i keep forgetting the stuff every time i have to use it, and i have to keep looking it up every time i want to do anything, then i just stop using it

@slembcke@mastodon.gamedev.place my practical way of dealing with the reality that I won’t remember everything is to make copious personal notes in Obsidian. I usually remember that I used to know something and that’s enough to locate it 😉
