Thermal Management of a House in Warm Weather 101 (No AC Edition): Your house is like a ship. Each room is like a partially watertight compartment. Your 'ship' ran aground at low tide and somehow got stuck, and there are holes in the hull. The rising temperature outside is like the tide coming in, threatening to flood your ship. The warmer each room gets, the more 'flooded' it is. To slow the 'flooding' as much as possible, keep doors and windows shut. 1/?

Maintain this for as long as the outside temperature remains higher than inside. Once the outside air temperature drops below the temperature inside - or, the 'tide' goes back out - open doors and windows up again to assist with draining out any 'flooding' that occurred. Reset before the next day's temperatures become higher than the temperature inside, (or the next 'incoming tide' reaches the 'hull' of your 'ship') again. Hope you've all been taking notes. There will be a test. 2/2
