I bought a "new" 10" f4 Meade Schmidt Newtonian Telescope - hopefully for asteroid occultation observations. Big light bucket. First light last night.
The half-moon was at prime focus, with a very jury-rigged mount, but hit clear skies. The second (earlier) image is an eyepiece projection of the terminator - 166x magnification. 1/400s exposure to stop the wobbles from thin cloud, but that needed 40 000ISO ...
Lots of work to do on every front, but fun work!
