i'm a keyboard+mouse person but frequently throughout the day i lean towards keyboard-only workflows (too lazy to reach for the mouse). so for years I had SurfingKeys in Firefox for the occasional "click link without mouse". but lately i found some web apps like mastodon to have good built-in keynav, and found myself disabling SurfingKeys to avoid conflicts. these vim extensions are always a balancing act (annoying to reach for mouse vs. annoying when website hotkeys get overwritten) 1/

yesterday I found the Link Hints addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/linkhints/ it provides only the essentials: click link without mouse, optionally in a new tab. I think this is actually what I wanted all this time? Barely any hotkey overrides, and quite a bit of care seems to have gone into technical and design work (the intro guide and settings are very nice). for the rest, my kb makes it easy to hit common browser shortcuts like Alt+Left/Right or Ctrl+PgUp/Down. let's see if I stick with this 2/2
