@mcnado@mstdn.social Thats definitely a major part of it. Republicans are amoral borderline personalities. To a person. They are the party of corpratists, of capitalists, of fascists, and ruthless self-interest. But let's be clear about somthing. Both national party machines prioritize the adjendas of donors over electors. The GOP does it actively the DNC passively. The DNC is content to loose as long as the financial contrabutions remain steady. Why do I say this? Because, in the 16 years since Citizens United v. FEC the DNC has chosen to ignore the presence of foreign governments and multinational corporations in political finance. The wide consensus of Americans know this is wrong, and would vote against it. It's an issue that would cause the GOP to buckle under scrutiny. But the DNC can't keep their own house clean. They participate as the supporting actor in a production put on for the American people. A mummers play conducted for the plebs.
