@flargh@mastodon.social Curious how its death has manifested. I’ve run into a few similar seeming interface deaths over the years only to find an unexpected unrelated cause and an otherwise still working port.
On a related note, I do find my Mac will periodically reorient interface priority even without the actual defined order changing. “Why is this transfer to my synology running like trash? Oh, it’s arbitrarily using WiFi this time.” Toggle on/off and back to gig speeds. Irksome.

@halfpress@mastodon.social I noticed a while back I'd have to unplug the Ethernet cable and plug it back in to get to recognize, but it would always pop right back up in the Network system pref when it did. Now I don't get any light on the hub at all, and I've tried different cables and blowing out the port with compressed air to make sure it's not crufty.
