Today, I met a very sweet little girl who carries a dream in her heart much bigger than her age. She was suffering from a heart condition, and she held a set of colored pencils in her hands as if they were the most precious things she owned. I asked her if she had a sketchbook. She said no… but told me that she wished she could learn how to draw. I smiled at her, then sat beside her on the hospital floor. I couldn’t find any paper, a notebook, or proper drawing supplies… all I had was a piece of cardboard. 🙈 Her colors were poor and worn, and I had to mix many of them together to create something that resembled what I had in mind. The result wasn’t beautiful, and the cardboard was far from being a real canvas… but I wasn’t really trying to make a painting. I was simply trying to create a small window toward her dream. I drew the planets she dreams of seeing one day, and talked to her about them as if, for a few moments, we could leave the walls of the hospital behind and travel far away… into the sky. Maybe the colors weren’t beautiful, and we didn’t even have proper paper, but the look in her eyes when she saw what we had drawn was more beautiful than any painting. Sometimes, children don’t need much to dream… they just need a hand willing to sit beside them, a few colors, and someone who believes their dreams are worth drawing. 🤍 https://gofund.me/83e09b493 https://gaza-verified.org/people/@nada@manganiello.eu/ #Fediforgaza #Gaza #Palestine #StandWithGaza #MutualAid #Humanity #SupportPalestine #SaveLives #EmergencyRelief
