I think if you like something, gatekeeping is at that point mandatory. It kind of goes against the principle and you do kind of hurt the thing you like in return (like, slowing the growth of a content creator you like because you don't share them) but if it becomes popular and you start not liking it does that mean you did not like them in the beginning or something?
