VOY S3 E8-9 "Future's End" I’m really tired of Star Trek characters traveling to the “present” and dropping their monocles at youth subcultures. Tuvok acts like Venice Beach in 1996 is the craziest thing he’s ever seen. How can anyone who sees a Talaxian every day think a kid with a dyed Mohawk the slightest bit out of the ordinary. It really makes it seem like the future is going to be a drab, boring place. Where did they think they were going with that Chakotay and Torres are captured by right wing militia nut jobs subplot? The time loop logic is really weird here. The episode claims that the advances in computer technology over the previous 3 decades weren’t supposed to happen, but were a result of Braxton’s time ship crash. Said crash (and preceding events) are no longer part of Braxtons’s timeline, suggesting that blowing up the time ship undid that sequence of events. Yet, we still have computers. Janeway and company still remember everything. Does this mean that Crazy Homeless Guy Braxton lived out the rest of his life in cardboard boxes in LA? What the fuck? #VOY #startrek
