@hellomiakoda@pdx.social @ApostateEnglishman When I waded into this thread, I was thinking about a family of foster children whose case a colleague and I were discussing recently. They accepted as “normal” a set of heartbreaking conditions that most people would find horrifying. Unfortunately, I responded to a comment about our brains ability to protect by normalizing conditions, and now it’s turned into a discussion of lack of nuance and group inclusion.
