VOY S3 E23-25: "Distant Origin" , Displaced", and "Worst Case Scenario" Latest Voyager update: Almost to the end of S3. "Distant Origin" was a clever concept and good structure, undermined by sloppy writing. "Displaced" was kind of fun, but required too high a suspension of disbelief. But "Worst Case Scenario", man that was a home run. I could see the twist coming, but that didn't matter. It was a well-executed take on the "holodeck gone wild" plot, but it was also one of the few Voyager episodes that really could not have been a TNG episode. Part of the tension in the opening segment comes from the feeling that Chakotay is not merely acting out of character, but acting like it's early S1. That holonovel plot just wouldn't work on TNG. #VOY #startrek
