Significant progress was made! I think I got everything and am comfortable with wiping the system. Anything else I missed I guess oh well. Next step is to download probably a Debian iso and prep a USB stick. (Hold your thoughts on Linux distros, please. Not currently looking for advice.) /2

The main nudge was that my audio interface was dropping out every so often. I think a Windows update may be to blame and I thought I might as well just rebuild in Linux, since that was always the plan anyway, rather than troubleshoot on Windows and then also rebuild shortly after. /5

After spending a lot of time in this over 3 days, I have landed at a Debian install. I was having all kinds of issues with OBS in Ubuntu Studio regarding browser sources, Aitum Multistream, and Streamdeck with standard OBS install, PPA install, and flatpak install. Ended up dual booting to test a straight Debian install and things are working. Was able to stream fine with the nouveau drivers but afterward got the NVIDIA proprietary drivers installed. /6

Last items to do are install a Streamdeck solution and caption support. Might look into how to snapshot this install before I start diving back in on those tasks, just in case. /7
