If you're contorting yourself to wedge your preferred language into an existing environment that's wholly incompatible out of some perverse, fetishistic desire to use a language? No, not really. If you're in an environment that happens to be using your favourite language and the organization and tooling supports it? Sure, sounds great. I think language is pretty far down the list of determinants of productivity. But it's nice when it happens.
