Back when we were still naming variants of Covid after the countries where they first appeared, and racists were being racist about it, the British people were calling the British variant (now named alpha) the "Boris virus." His disastrous mismanagement did indeed contribute to its emergence in Kent. I took a page out of their book and started naming strains "The Bolsonaro Virus" (gamma) and "The Modi Virus" (delta).
