But if we all flee to a cottage in the woods, there will be no woods left, and it'll just be another suburbia with streets named after the trees that got cut down.

Maybe we just make a neighborhood where everyone has no lawn except for native grasses, they have to plant 20 trees on their property, and everyone agrees to ignore everyone else.
