@leechindustries@zeroes.ca While there are valid points made, it pretty much ignores the flu. The person is traumatized by alpha or delta variant long covid, which is 100% understandable. That was nasty. Long omicron and long flu are roughly equally bad, of which both are very rare. However the most deaths from either is mid December to mid Februrary. It is not unreasonable at all to expect a person to do their duty during this time and wear a mask. Nor on an airplane, medical facility, drug store or a heavily crowded area. We should have always been doing this just due to all the flu deaths. However for the rest of the year in usual areas, the risks are extremely low these days. Long covid is no longer very common. People need to look into the risk analysis, and carefully analyze this. If we had a functioning government, they would make clear guides like this. But we don't have one of those so either fear or selfishness or just obliviousness and convenience decide people's views on this.
