@tk @helenczerski @LePlonge I don't think it would be competitive if the only reason to use a product or system is because its environmentally friendly, the vast majority will never use it solar panels and EVs are popular not because they help the envirnoment by lowering co2, but bc solar panels low electric bills, and don't need any cost to run them and EVs have amazing acceleration a 'green' boat would have to somehow keep up with the fossil fuel powered ones in some way, or it could be a niche market for slow but cheap transport - that's what I was thinking with the solar power but it probably wouldn't work well perhaps wind could take that role actually, as long as those ships lasted long enough that the costs saved from no fuel were covered by their lifespans might be hard getting investment though
