an alternate version of the above video with no text and a harpsichord sound I really wanted to post this version of the audio instead because the audio is rendered using a TUI DAW that I made, but I decided against it because I think the harpsichord makes my mistakes a lot more obvious #synth #electronicmusic #synthdiy

@jaxter184@social.linux.pizza This seems like a permanent improvement to the keyboard. Most digital improvements to our musical life are storage, or mimicking instruments. The electric piano is just storage and speakers but this seems like it could literally upend centuries of the culture of teaching people how to overcome the piano's limitations. I have limited understanding, but this seems like real advance to making music.

@jaxter184@social.linux.pizza I guess if you put actuators on a piano and connected them it could be a hammer and wire performance instead of synth but still with the flexible layout. I'm mostly thinking about people who get injured from the piano but still want to play. Though it's probably overkill with the robot piano for that group of people.
