🧵1/? This has been bothering me over the last several weeks since watching Supergirl and subsequently reading the run its based on: the hate that the film gets and towards the lead actress Milly Alcock is so forced. The audience loved the movie, it was the critics who didn’t. Remember when the critics loved The Last of Us Part II what was your reaction haters? That the critics were woke, that they were bought off by the liberal media but now that the table has turned and the critics are overly critical of a decent film their word is the final arbiter of truth? Talk about a double standard. At first I was planning on ignoring the incel tier comments about the film, but since Man of Tomorrow is on the horizon it seems this rotten discourse will persist for the time being.

@sayonaraminasan@urusai.social I feel DC films get so much media hate especially in comparison with the slop Marvel puts out nowadays. Marvel hasn’t had a film that meets the hype since Black Panther, everything they make is a hit if you believe the media.
