Can you blame them? The only way of getting to state-level communism has historically been hardcore autocracy, so I kinda understand them.
And the people belonging to “the party” get to enjoy lavish lifestyles, while the rest suffers and dreams about escaping/emigrating. The don’t want to empower “workers”, it’s just a polifitcal slogan to get themselves into power.

Yes I can. They did not bother to nuance their position, going fully into soviet empire propaganda. There are examples of getting to planned economy without autocracy Salvodor Allende’s Chile, some anarchist societies in Ukraine in 30s, yugoslavia (kinda), etc.
