I grew up in a relative poor environment, and a big part of my entertainment was flipping through the pages of pop-sci magazines from the 80s that my dad used to have. All of them were subscription-based, e.g. all issues of Radio 1985, all issues of Technics for Youth 1989, and so on. All but one: a single issue of the Modelist magazine, kept separately from all the other magazines.
Flipping through the pages of it, I found an article describing a cool video game for an obscure DIY personal computer, written by someone with the same full name as my dad. And then, one day I discovered that my dad actually had this DIY computer, stored not that far away from the magazine in question.
I asked my dad if it was his game, but he vehemently denied it. I pleaded at least to power up the computer, but he said no and got weirdly defensive about the whole ordeal.
I wonder what kind of dark history is linked to this computer and this video game.
