In the search for something that isn't paint and allows me to do quick and dirty adaptations to figures for courses etc, I came across @Krita . Wow. Just wow. Free, pretty intuitive (more than paint!), a whole set of features for both bitmap and vector, and a nice and helpful community. What's not to like? #FOSS #OpenSource #TechTools https://krita.org/en/

@Krita@mastodon.art To elaborate: I've been using @inkscape@mastodon.art before but the workflow to do quick adaptations to jpg and png files of schematic things, wasn't smooth. Inkscape is great software for power users, but less so for the occasional dabbler like me. Krita otoh seems to be able to tackle both the quick dab and the pro work. Caveat: I'm not a power user, so I can't compare the more advanced toolsets.
