But I would like what you describe, sort of a "step back from this person just a bit". How did it choose which posts to show?

@ferrix@mastodon.online it shows a list of users instead of a list of posts, so you see the latest post from each user (and can click through to see more posts from that user)

@ferrix@mastodon.online @jrose@social.belkadan.com it was more like an RSS feed reader, where you see all of the accounts you follow in a list, which you could sort by most recently active/alphabetical/random/whatever, and you would click one to see that account's most recent posts. so the amount of space any one account can take was limited, and there were affordances for digging up less frequent posters
