@aoristdual@floss.social I register my domains through https://freedns.afraid.org/ as well as using them for dynamic dns. Been using them for probably fifteen years now, set it and forget it. There's a free tier for dynamic dns as well as a really cheap paid tier (the free tier allows other users to request a subdomain on your domain, which you can refuse, while the paid tier makes your domain "private"). Never had issues with their registrar service, either.
Codeberg for static pages has also been really reliable for me. In some ways it isn't as convenient as github.com pages, but I built a pretty easy workflow around it. Rather than checking in Markdown and letting CI take over I have a separate repo for the source and for the rendered site. Build the site locally, check in the updated source, then check in the site itself. Simple enough to automate, it's really just one more step. Just be careful, some ssg's will wipe out the entire build directory on every build, including the .git directory. I rolled my own ssg to overcome that "feature".
