@glitzersachen@hachyderm.io @tante@tldr.nettime.org easy: because electricity is no threat to my privacy. In the digital world there are so many actors, so many of them are too big, can impose things upon me I don't begin to fathom... I don't want my data sold, my life x-rayed. Not by companies, not by political actors. Especially not by right wing suckers (thiel, musk, USA, ...) - not directly, not indirectly. And when smart meters became a standard(?) in Germany, I was quite deep in these topics as well. Things like one can read from your energy usage which TV programme is running, what your tumbler is doing etc. And I cannot live without electricity, so I started designing random energy leechers to mask things like TVs. 🤷♀️ (At least Germany made constant monitoring a no go). I just want privacy.
