Sort of related, I’ve found that it is much easier to destroy good stuff than it is to build it. Mere neglect destroys pretty fast.
This leads to, oh, etymological conservatism, but away from political conservatism.

@clew@ecoevo.social @jik@federate.social absolutely. I've thought about this a lot, how terribly fragile civilization is. I grew up in the 1970s, and watched my mother, and so many others working to create things like equal rights, sex ed, abortion access. It's horrific to see how quickly all of it is being destroyed.
