[< Continued] If you believe that KDE is on the wrong path, the beauty of F/LOSS is that there are other projects available. We cordially invite you to try them out and support them. If you feel that way, you should also save your donations to KDE for worthier causes. [EOF]

@kde@floss.social It's great to see dialogue - the last part is an overt passive-aggressive example, though. It kinda negates all that went before it. PR is as important as code quality :)

@kde@floss.social Entirely disregarding whatever is said, i do think that telling anyone a "If you dont like us, go away" has historically always been a bad move

@kde@floss.social now regarding what is sai, answering to 1. in the last few days i saw being closed off and dismissive of its users being opposed to the policy. 2 only point to be true 3 is sadly untrue, even if not in the intent, if the whole takeaway is "you may use AI assistance, but dont tell us" 4. we just had a Akademy talk about AI Native KDE, even if that was received badly, thats endorsement of the idea 5. a REALLY weird point to be hung up over, thats the least thing i was convinced off

@kde@floss.social I'm glad that KDE does not give in to simplified binary narratives. Regarding the opinionated spectrum that was opened by Sanders and Bannon lately (butlerian jihad vibes): FLI's 2026 Pro-Human AI Declaration frames the choice roughly as: AI should serve humanity, not the reverse.

@kde@floss.social I get the tone intended in this toot is to be magnanimous and granting not everyone will agree or believe the message but it does hit more of a "Don't believe us? Go away then, we don't need you" tone to me.

@kde@floss.social Why put fascists in quotes though? I get it that you’re trying to be careful, but it could also be that this time you’re actually giving an actual fascist the benefit of the doubt. Be careful with that .. 🤔🤔

  • @kde@floss.social I feel like i'm missing a ton of information. What's going on with KDE fascists, omarchy and framework computer?

@kde@floss.social It is my understanding that someone exposed a fascist in the KDE community, and got banned for it. Will that person be unbanned? If they aren't unbanned, what you're demonstrating is that you're perfectly happy with secret fascists.

  • @kde@floss.social @Bystanders If you are unaware of the happenings like me, I found this short overview helpful: https://planet.kde.org/nate-graham-2026-09-23-kde-and-ai-and-you-and-me/ Thanks anyway @kde@floss.social for your work on the topic. Dealing with AI slop is hard and dealing with such dramas is even harder.
