@leanderlindahl@mastodon.social @bekopharm@indieweb.social One wonders if those advisers have "failed", or if they are simply ensconced in the bubble of corporate lobby groups. Which is still failure, of course, but of a different sort.

@leanderlindahl@mastodon.social @bekopharm@indieweb.social Failure was the main reason she was sent to Brussels in the first place. Germans usually wonder why she still has that job

@leanderlindahl@mastodon.social Sadly it's somewhat likely that she failed her advisers. There were reports during the Zensursula days that she and her team were given really simple explanations about why their ideas wouldn't work for technical reasons, and all she could come up with as response were variants of "those nerds are probably child-abusers themselves". She cares about optics, not about substance, and the optics of "buddies of my buddies are running a startup, and when they become billionaires I can bask in their glory because I recommended them early" please her more than "here's a resilient way for people to exchange ideas with one another online, that isn't easily subverted by a political direction embedded in its algorithms." @bekopharm@indieweb.social

@leanderlindahl@mastodon.social @bekopharm@indieweb.social her interest is not to represent „us“, she‘s only interested in growing her power. To protect her rich friends. Flintenuschi, Zensursula, you are not my president 🤮

@leanderlindahl@mastodon.social @bekopharm@indieweb.social It might be that if it isn't a platform, they don't seem to understand the underlying theory. Without a platform, there's distributed "ownership"—cathedral-and-bazaar style—so people can't tell if it's European or not, even though the origins are often very much European. Ownership itself seems to be the lens that matters most: if no single entity can claim it, it doesn't get counted, regardless of where it actually came from.
