I couldn't help but install an instance of the new #littleFedi ActivityPub server. It's at https://social.baty.net/. Now what? I don't dare migrate followers yet, so for the moment I have 2 ActivityPub identities 🙄. littleFedi has a static blog generator built in, so I tested that by copying a post from yesterday. I picked the most playful theme, for a change. https://social.baty.net/@jack/blog/2026/10/04/littlefedi/. Anyway, I like it, but still noodling over what to do with it. Could I move my identity there? Should I? It's from @stefano, super friendly author of BSSG so I'm in good hands.

@jbaty@social.lol @stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe as someone who has tried snac2 and gotosocial in the past but eventually settled on running a tuned mastodon instance, I found that most issues occurred with either mobile client support, or push notification support. If that is important to you, I’d test that properly before you commit to the new instance. That said, #littleFedi looks genuinely promising!
