Got my first dose of the Shingrix vaccine yesterday afternoon. No side-effects for a few hours, then I started to feel a tiny bit light-headed and my arm became very slightly sore. Slept well. Woke with some generalised muscle and joint pain and my arm was very tender. All in all, though, very mild so far. The nurse suggested I take a couple of paracetamol but I haven't felt the need for any painkillers (not even wine).

Felt tired and sleepy for some of today. Even managed a short nap. As I haven't done much physically, I'm assuming it's down to my immune system working hard to fight an enemy it doesn't realise is actually dead. Arm pretty sore but still not paracetamol sore.

Slept very poorly last night - even my FitBit agrees - even though I was tired. Apart from maybe being a tiny bit feverish, I think it was due to sleeping position. Although, like most people, I move around a bit, lying on my left side seems to be my favoured sleeping position. As my left arm was still very tender, I stayed on my back or right side. So for anyone else contemplating getting vaccinated, when choosing which arm to use, think less about which hand you use for day-to-day stuff like writing, chopping wood, vanquishing enemies, etc, and more about sleeping.
