Same. My Mom worked and Dad was a truck driver. I stayed with Grandma a lot and as a result I got to see how the silent generation worked, not boomers. My life skills came from people that lived through the depression and I realize I'm better off for it

Ya, I'm the oldest grand and was the oldest great grand for her parents. Prolly why I know how to sew and quilt and cook with limited ingredients and change a tire and build a fire and whatnot.
