Serbian president concedes defeat to student-led movement in election https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10-26/serbia-election-vucic-defeat-student-protest/107307808 The Student List has won 104 seats in the 250-seat parliament so far in vote counting, and it's likely the final tally will be 135-140 seats. Aleksandar Vučić has conceded defeat, ending his 12 years as President. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), is projected to win only 105 seats. Students protested for months, saying the SNS is unfit to govern Serbia due to corruption and authoritarianism. It certainly doesn't help that Aleksandar Vučić is a RWN and was strong supportive of Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Likewise, having Putin endorse his campaign would have been the kiss of death. There are clear parallels between the election in Serbia yesterday and the election in Hungary in April. Viktor Orban, another RWNJ and vassal of Putin, was voted out after two stretches totalling 20 years as Prime Minister of Hungary. #Serbia #SerbiaPol #SerbiaVotes #AleksandarVučić #StudentList
