@ticky@slime.global ohto super promecha!! by twisting the recessed thingy in the middle, you can adjust how much lead is advanced by each click. i don't often need to adjust it but i find it so cool that there's a mechanism for it

@ticky@slime.global it's an uni kuru toga roulette, the lead rotates as you take the pencil off and on the paper so it keeps a sharp centered point, and it's metal with a nice weight and hand feel

@ticky@slime.global Probably Pentel Sharp, because they are widely available, relatively light as these things go and they hold the lead reliably which makes a difference for drawing. The Sharp Kerry variant gets honorable mention for having a cap, though their ergonomics aren't as great. The Pentel brand has a good reputation for customer service although I haven't dealt with that. I also have a 2mm Koh-i-noor Technigraph lead holder. Those aren't writing pencils but they are excellent for filling areas. I still use Bic pencils because the grainy leads those come with actually add some control. They fit the Bic model of disposable reliability. They aren't right for more sensitive drawing though.
