@saikou@gts.chuuni.solutions TLDR: It depends on how and what you want to consume. If you only have music: Navidome If you have music and movies or TV: Jellyfin If you want to broadcast to things in your house: MusicAssistant. I have both Navidome and Jellyfin running, both pointed at the same music directory. I have a separate script I use to build the "playlist" files (which just crawl directories I named "lofi", "synth", "pop", etc. I have two partly for "legacy" reasons (I started with Navidome) and partly because Jellyfin also lets me stream other media. On android I run Symfonium, which does a pretty good job talking to both, can do local "caching" of media (for when I am in cellular dead zones) and can talk to either Navidome or Jellyfin. (On desktop I either run the web client, or a copy of Supersonic (which can also talk to either), depending on my mood.) FWIW, I also run MusicAssistant, which can broadcast music to things like chromecast devices (I have a few older chromecast audio devices), Sonos compatible stuff, Airplay, and a bunch of others, and can read from a bunch of sources including the local drive, Navidome and Jellyfin. All of these are capable players that should do what you want. Navidome is very much "music focused". Jellyfin is more "media focused" where music is just another type. It doesn't have some of the cataloging features that Navidome has, and it also lacks some of the streaming/sharing functions that MusicAssistant has. MusicAssistant is fairly new to the game, and while it's built and works well with HomeAssistant, it's also pretty stand-alone. It has one of the richest APIs of any of these, but lacks a local, dedicated client other than the web interface. (I can also say that all three are fairly easy to set up on a server, and play reasonably nice together, which is refreshing.)
