Is there some kind of hypocrisy or irony subtext I'm missing? I don't understand why this is a juxtaposition

Yeah, it's fine for the US to invade countries even when they have no pretenses, and even when they're shamelessly saying it's for oil, some liberals will still come out and say they support it, they seem incapable of realizing that the media they consume has manufactured their consent for this to happen
