That lets the ownership class externalise the responsibility for all the horrid things they want to do. But yeah it's always been this way. The ultimate example is pointing to "the economy" as the reason we can't have nice things. It's always the economy, or some BS that is out of peoples hands. Well it's 100% in our hands what we do on our own planet with our own resources, despite all these tricks and misdirections.
