@futzle@old.mermaid.town I've seen a lot of travesties caused by people who have no understanding of databases whatsoever designing systems with database backends.
The guy who had a single table with a single column containing a single row which contained a ginornous XML data structure is hard to beat though.

@futzle@old.mermaid.town We had a guy at my first job who made a valiant effort though. *Every* field was VARCHAR2(4000) (yes, including the PK). Need a longer field? Np! Just concat.
