@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social I actually believe the even better application is thermal storage in sand or salt. Both available without much destruction to the environment. And can be heated to 1200 °C without problems or damage to material. Then used any time to power a steam turbine as they exist in pretty much any kind of power plant as is. And also: it can o/c be used for heating, so even a small scale solution for house heat. Only problem I see: not a lot of profit to be made of that...
