Just to make it clear: I'm not opposed to non-developers creating apps. Being an infra person, I've had my fair share of apps I created myself. I just wish people would check existing apps, or engage with them, before going on their own. At least the old ways of forking projects were being honest about it.

@badnetmask@hachyderm.io agreed. Frankly, it's usually a good learning exercise. And often you won't learn the difference between "can" and "should" until after you've done the exercise. It's what you do next, that makes the difference.
