I think we can influence who we're attracted to a little bit around the edges by thinking things like "That outfit is hot!", but for the most part we very much cannot control who we are or aren't attracted to. The catch is that we're attracted to so many people we can select potential mates based on stronger criteria than just if we're attracted to them or not.

@Impossible_PhD@hachyderm.io @sophiesometimes@anarres.family @CharlotteEowyn@chaosfem.tw When you combine that with the fact that we practice hiding our attraction to people from early adolescence on, it probably does look like we can choose our attraction at will, when the reality is we just choose who we show it to at will.
